Donald Trump's behavior in court is proof of dementia, says psychiatry prof

imagine you're the defendant in a criminal trial.
your fate is in the hands of a judge and twelve strangers.. these people are in control of your life.. they could send you to prison. .you're helpless...you can't talk unless ordered to.. you can't do anything.

if you're a normal human being, adrenaline is rushing through your system. your heart is pounding. your stress levels are spiking.

but if you're Little Donny Fuckface, you're dead asleep, sawing logs while you fill the courtroom with noxious gas.

what the fuck is going on with this broken-inside dipshit?

Puppy Breaks Into Kristi Noem's Official Residence and Craps on Rug

The Borowitz Report
April 29, 2024

PIERRE, SOUTH DAKOTA (The Borowitz Report) --- In an incident under investigation by state police, a puppy of indeterminate breed obtained access to Gov. Kristi Noem's official residence Sunday night and excreted on the entryway carpet.

A police spokesman said that the act of canine vandalism is believed to be "political in nature."

At a hastily called press conference, a visibly rattled Noem called the puppy's actions "a result of Joe Biden's failed policies at the border."

"Bad puppies are swarming into our country, breaking into our homes, and committing unspeakable crimes," she said.

But, in a worrisome development for Noem, a new poll shows South Dakota's voters favoring the puppy over her by a two-to-one margin.

Pose an obscure question about a movie & see if anyone knows the answer without using Google

Near the end of Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his best friend, stuntman Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) get drunk together at a Mexican restaurant, and decide to return to Dalton's Benedict Canyon house on Cielo Drive (next door to Sharon Tate) via taxi, since they were both too drunk to drive.

How much was the fare for the taxi?

Rabbi Alyssa Wise & Israeli-Born Novelist Ayelet Waldman Arrested Trying to Bring Food to Gaza

Democracy Now
April 29, 2024

Israeli police arrested seven rabbis and Israeli activists Friday at the Gaza border during an action that accused Israel of using starvation as a weapon of war against Palestinians.

The delegation of Rabbis for Ceasefire carried bags of food to the Erez crossing between Israel and northern Gaza amid reports that famine is imminent for more than 1 million Palestinians in Gaza.

"It is incredibly important that those of us who have privilege use that privilege to call attention to this ongoing catastrophe," says Ayelet Waldman, one of the seven people arrested Friday .
Waldman emphasizes that her "mildly uncomfortable" arrest pales in comparison to the violence and repression encountered daily by Palestinian detainees.
"Right now what matters is stopping the starvation and murder of millions of people in Gaza," she says.

The action was planned to mark the tradition of Passover, which celebrates the Jewish exodus from slavery in Biblical Egypt.
"What does it mean to sit around a table and celebrate freedom when in our names a forced starvation and a mass murder is taking place?' asks our other guest, Rabbi Alyssa Wise, a founder and organizer with Rabbis for Ceasefire and the former co-executive director of Jewish Voice for Peace.

Saving Mini: Inside the global network torturing baby monkeys - BBC World Service

Warning:
This film contains scenes that some viewers may find disturbing.

"The Monkey Haters": BBC Eye exposes ring behind torture videos.

BBC World Services investigation unit, BBC Eye, has uncovered a global monkey-torture ring stretching from Indonesia to the United States.
As a result of a year-long investigation, BBC Eye found hundreds of customers in the US, UK and other countries, paying people in Indonesia to torture and kill baby long-tailed macaques on film.

The torture ring began life on You Tube before moving to private groups on the encrypted messaging app Telegram.
BBC journalists went undercover in one of the main Telegram torture groups, where people were coming up with extreme ideas and commissioning people in Indonesia to carry them out.

Here Comes the Sun Money: Biden Launches $7 Billion "Solar for All" on Earth Day

Newsweek
April 22, 2024

The Biden administration chose Earth Day to announce the recipients of $7 billion in funding for a program called Solar for All that aims to expand rooftop and community solar power to an estimated 900,000 households in low-and moderate-income communities.

"The Solar for All program is really emblematic of the swing-for-the-fences, big bold climate action the President has championed from day one," White House Climate Adviser Ali Zaidi said in a press briefing.

Zaidi said the winning applicants will serve all 50 states, Puerto Rico and other territories and increase solar access for tribal governments.
The program uses a mix of grants and low-cost financing to overcome financial barriers to solar and provides assistance on sitting and permitting solar arrays.

News of Mass Graves Isn't Much News to US Outlets

Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR)
April 26, 2024

The bodies of over 300 people were discovered in a mass grave at the Nasser medical complex in Khan Younis, a Gaza city besieged by Israeli forces.

The discovery of these Palestinian bodies, many of which were reportedly bound and stripped, is more evidence of "plausible" genocide committed by Israel during it's bombardment of Gaza.

Over 34,000 Palestinians have died thus far, with more than two-thirds of the causalities being women and children.
(Al Jazeera, 4/21/24)

Yet this discovery prompted few US news headlines, despite outlets like the Guardian (4/23/24), Haaretz (4/23/24) and Reuters (4/23/24) covering the story.
Instead, headlines relating to Palestine have predominately focused on protests happening at university campuses across the country -- an important story, but not one that ought to drown out coverage of the atrocities students are protesting against.
